The Venice Art Center holds its own artistic allure with almost 200 classes offered. Everything from basket weaving, glass fusing, jewelry design to darkroom skills and digital photography is included. There are ceramic, pottery and sculpture classes teaching clay hand-building, wheel throwing, and glazing techniques. There are drawing classes for all levels of individuals, and include figure and portrait. Painting classes explore all mediums – acrylic, oil, pastel and watercolor. They also offer open studio time for drawing and pottery. The instructors at the Center are published, displayed in private and permanent public collections, and noted in such publications as Who's Who directories and the Dictionary of International Biography.

Since its inception, the Venice Art Center has offered art education for all ages. Special youth classes abound. Saturday classes are also available and in the summer three art camps are offered which range from classes in circus art and clown make-up to children’s animal art class. They are held during the summer break. It is an enthralling way for children to spend their summers. Parents enjoy the fact their children are learning something useful they can utilize for the rest of their lives. The classes intellectually stimulating and provides a creative outlet in a positive way. At the end of camp, an exhibition is held displaying the students’ work.

The Venice Art Center is also a perfect place to bring out of town guests. The main art gallery provides an ever-changing array of works, and two separate salons display even more art. You can purchase a unique piece of art from the Center’s extensive gift shop. Stroll through the outdoor sculpture gardens and enjoy a leisurely lunch at Cafe Aimé. Owned and operated by Amy Pennella, the scrumptious menu consists of homemade soups and sandwiches. The grilled turkey and brie on pumpernickel is a favorite. For a special treat, try the dessert sampler! During season, reservations are highly advised. Be sure to stop by the Venice Art Center soon for seasonal treats and creative inspiration.
