Accommodations

“Whether you are visiting family or enjoying a vacation, we have a variety of rooms to suit your stay,” says General Manager Steven Le Blanc. Steven manages two motels in the Venice area: The Days Inn of Venice, located at 1710 Tamiami Trail South, and the Veranda Inn of Venice, located on the Island at 625 Tamiami Trail South, across from the Venice hospital. Both motels are close to restaurants, shopping and neighborhoods.

The Days Inn is centrally located right on Tamiami Trail South and Shamrock Drive, in the heart of Venice, half way between Sarasota and Port Charlotte. Upgrading the exterior facade of the motel has kept the staff busy this past year; the result is a fresh, clean look. Guest rooms offer a choice of two double beds, two queens or one king bed. All rooms are efficiencies complete with a microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker. There is also a relaxing outdoor pool for your enjoyment.

When entering the bright and welcoming lobby, you may be greeted by the friendly face of Front Desk Manager Carmen Mendez. She proudly says, “Our staff makes this a special place to stay; they are friendly, know the Venice area well and are extremely helpful to our guests.” While in the lobby, guests can help themselves to hot coffee, tea, cocoa, and the USA Today newspaper. Subway is at the other end of the building, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily.

If island vacationing is your style, check into the Veranda Inn. You will be surrounded with tropical colors and Florida foliage. There is a lush garden courtyard where you will find a large, inviting heated pool. Guests enjoy the luxury of parking in front of their ground floor room. Steve says that most guests stay an average of five nights. Sandy Possinger, property manager for over  seven  years, will make sure your stay is a  pleasant  one.

Days Inn of Venice

All rooms at the Veranda Inn come equipped with many amenities including microwaves, refrigerators, coffeemakers, even irons and ironing boards. The Kingfish Café, a charming, award-winning restaurant, is located right in front of the motel and is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch.

With 73 rooms at the Days Inn and another 38 located at the Veranda Inn, there is sure to be a room ready and waiting for you. Whichever motel you decide to choose, there are plenty of attractions within easy driving distance to both: boating, fishing, golfing, tennis and shopping. A new twelve-screen movie theatre opened in March 2006, less than a mile south of the Days Inn. Conveniently located between both motels is Venice’s new Venetian Waterway Park, a 10-mile linear trail along the Intracoastal. You can walk, jog, bike, rollerblade, picnic and enjoy the surrounding beauty of Venice. We have it all in paradise – come and see for yourself!
