Penny Brandon

Penny Brandon grew up in
Des Plaines, Illinois,
and began drawing and painting horses as a
youngster. After moving to Sarasota, Florida, she
found herself surrounded by the tropical beauty of
nature and wildlife. This scenery rekindled her
interest in art and she began painting birds,
landscapes and buildings unique to the area and
the Caribbean.
Originally self-taught, Penny refined her
techniques under the guidance of Max Muller at the
Ringling School of Art and Design. She specializes
in watercolors emphasizing depth of color, a
tropical style, and floral subjects.
The stylized paintings Penny has created reflect a
desire to share the joy of the natural beauty she
feels so fortunate to find all around her. In each
painting, she tries to bring the viewer a little
closer to that beauty.
