Thank You, Jesus
My Song Is His Psalm |

Ministry of Music
The music ministry of Linda Simes brings a message of hope for those who are searching. She has received comments such as, “When I heard you sing, my hope was renewed and my spirit was encouraged; You touched me where I am; The light of the Lord shines through you.”
Her inspirational songs have resulted from writing about her personal experiences. Linda has enjoyed music since childhood, and sang many of the melodies of her favorite singers: Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn.
When Linda was nine years old, she saw Elvis Presley perform Jail House Rock and Love Me Tender on the Ed Sullivan Show. She perceived Elvis as a great communicator because he sang from his heart. Linda’s musical appreciation increased. At the age of fifteen Linda accepted Christ, and found a new life purpose from her music. She began to focus more of her attention on Christian songs, adding The Gaithers and The Lundstroms to her list of role models. Their style influenced the tone of her compositions in the seventies.

“Today, as I travel down
the pathway of life,
As I see the many heartaches
along the road,
say, Thank You, Jesus,
for being so close to me,
For I could not make it alone.
Thank You, Jesus, I praise Your name,
For the Lord is my refuge
and my fortress,
In Him will I trust all the day long,
Thank You, Jesus, for being my song.
Tomorrow is another day,
as I go along life’s road,
If it weren’t for the Lord,
there’d be no way,
My life belongs to Him;
He will lead each step I take,
I know He will weather the day.
The storms, they will toss me
and lead me off the way,
For the trails of this life will tempt again,
But my friend, be assured,
that He will sanctify,
And make me whole from within.”
