If you’re looking for a unique way to serve up some fun, nutritious treats for your kids, grandchildren or luncheon guests, we’ve got some clever creations that are sure to capture their attention. By combining a few simple ingredients and a little imagination, you can make entertaining food that will be a hit with everyone!
Say Cheese!
Who can resist these cuties? Assemble the mice, using a peeled hard-boiled egg for the body, sliced radishes for the ears, scallions for the whiskers and tail, and black peppercorns for the eyes and nose. Display them on a piece of lettuce facing a wedge of Swiss cheese.
Meowy Muffins
Slice an English muffin in half, lightly toast, and top with cottage cheese. Create the face of a cat by using slices of a seedless cucumber for the eyes and ears, tomato for the nose, and green onions for the whiskers and mouth.
Easter Eats
Prepare a special Easter treat by decorating bread or toast with cheese and veggies. Cut scallions, slice radishes and tomatoes, use a cookie cutter to make bunny, chick and egg shapes, and then assemble as desired.

Baa-Baa Breakfast
Put a slice of toasted dark bread on a fun decorative plate. Fill a freezer bag with small curd cottage cheese, snip off the bag’s corner and squeeze cheese onto the bread to form the lamb shape. Use snippets of green onions to make the eyes, nose and mouth of the lamb and a radish slice to define the ear. Radish rosettes can be made by cutting zigzag lines around the center of the radish and then pulling it apart. Insert pieces of green onions into the radishes. Cut different lengths of onion and place them on the bread to create blades of grass.
Electronic Edibles
Who says you can’t enjoy TV at the table? Fill the plate with a tasty TV, cell phone, and game. Start by spreading mayonnaise on a sandwich roll. Place a piece of lettuce followed by a slice of cheese on each roll. Decorate as pictured using lunchmeat, cut tomatoes or red peppers, sliced radishes and scallions.
After these playful “cute eats” have been created, there are only two things left to do…
enjoy all the smiles and healthy treats!
