Fantastic Kitchens By George

George Kenney of Fantastic Kitchens By George! enjoys helping clients create kitchens and bathrooms that reflect and enhance the client’s lifestyle. As a general contractor in the 1970s, George found kitchens and bathrooms both challenging and intriguing, and decided to learn more about creating these rooms. Today, 25 years later, he is designing, supplying and installing these complex rooms.

“I enjoy creating kitchens most when all the members of the household are involved in the entire process,” George says, “It is fun watching them start from scratch, and finish with exactly what they want in these important spaces of their home

Client meetings occur first to gather information and preferences, and then a visit to the home follows if it is a remodel project. Next, clients get to choose from many samples. When working on a kitchen project, much attention is paid to accessories like a pull-out step, two-tier cutlery drawer, appliance garage or range hood. A wooden hood above the stove does reduce storage space but adds character to the room. Once all the decisions have been made, a preliminary AutoCAD design is produced. An important aspect of this process is the design software RealView®. This program provides a virtual tour and allows changes to  be  made  in  real  time. Clients are delighted to see modifications happen instantly and enthusiasm escalates during this part of the design process. The installation crew starts work after any adjustments are made to the blueprints.

Primarily, Fantastic Kitchens By George! installs custom, frameless cabinets in woods like cherry, birch, maple and walnut. Hinges are hidden and doors gently self-close. This furniture-style cabinetry can include front panels for refrigerators and dishwashers which match the cabinets.

New counter top materials have been replacing laminates in kitchens and bathrooms for several years now. While granite and quartz are the most popular choices, Corian was actually used 30 years ago in hospital and community applications, and is a popular choice in the home for its longevity and color choices. Fantastic Kitchens By George! also uses exotic woods on kitchen island counter tops.

Bringing  the  indoors  out,  instead  of  the outdoors in, is another new twist in home designs. Outdoor kitchens are now being built with functions and features of interior kitchen cabinetry, and the durability of outdoor furniture. Teak and Cypress wood doors are favorites and practical in these outdoor kitchens.

Stunning kitchen creations are the goal, of course, but the most important part of the Fantastic Kitchens By George! experience is their business philosophy: Promising a lot and delivering even more. “As long as we do that, we’ll be alright,” says George. “After all, every house has at least one kitchen,” he says with a grin.
