Navigating through the ongoing road
construction along US 41 By-pass on the
north edge of Venice is sometimes
challenging. But for those who maneuver
their way through the orange cones,
barricades and lane changes, the
award-winning Left Coast Seafood Co. is
worth the trip.
What makes the trip worthwhile? Left Coast’s
combination of affordable pricing and
excellent seafood, expertly prepared and
artfully presented.
“It’s very important to me that we maintain
the highest level of quality. It’s something
I am passionate about,” says General Manager
Rob Arbuckle. “Our fish is cut and breaded
here; all of our sauces are made here; all
of our produce is fresh. There’s no
processed food at Left Coast Seafood.”
Local produce and local seafood are offered
whenever available, says Rob, who also
relies on other suppliers for the freshest
product possible – seafood from the
Caribbean and South America, shellfish from
Prince Edward Island in Canada, and fresh
salmon from Chili.
Left Coast Seafood has a full bar and is
open daily at 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner.
Daily specials are available, as well as
Early Bird specials served 3 to 5:30 p.m.
every day. These early specials offer a full
meal including a non-alcoholic beverage and
dessert for under $10!
In addition to an extensive list of seafood
specialties and favorites, the menu also
includes steak, chicken, ribs, pasta and
stir-fry dishes. Most of the seafood can be
ordered fried, grilled, blackened, broiled
or sautéed. The complete menu can be seen
online at
www.LeftCoastSeafood.com.

Left Coast Seafood is known as a
family-friendly restaurant and has a special
menu for children. With seating for 270,
large parties are welcome, with or without
reservations, although it’s suggested that
parties of 12 or more call ahead. Anyone can
call to get on the preferred seating list,
and separate checks are never a problem.
Left Coast Seafood, which opened in March
2002, is an independent family-owned
restaurant. Rob, who has lived in Venice for
47 years, grew up in the restaurant
business. His father opened his first
restaurant when Rob was 11, and Rob’s
brother recently opened Curry Creek Café two
miles down the road, which offers everything
from Thai food to meatloaf.
“I enjoy cooking, and I love seafood,” Rob
reveals, “but the most rewarding part for me
is connecting with the people. I love
dealing with people.” The staff shares his
enthusiasm and is always friendly and
helpful. Be sure to stop into Left Coast
Seafood Co. for good food and great service
with a smile!
Please Note: Right now due to the
construction, the easiest way to get to Left
Coast Seafood is to turn off 41 By-pass at
the Bird Bay Drive stoplight; turn left if
going south, right if going north. Then take
the first left off Bird Bay onto the access
road, which goes behind the Financial Center
in Bird Bay Plaza. Continue straight into
the parking lot for Left Coast Seafood.
