Tropical Cookies

If you are looking for something a bit different to bake this year, try cookies using our wonderful Florida orange juice. Here is a recipe you will enjoy!

Tropical Christmas Cookies Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup softened butter
1 egg
1 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 Tbsp orange juice
Powdered sugar and candied cherries for garnish

Directions:

Mix all ingredients except powdered sugar and cherries, beating at low speed until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). Divide into thirds. Chill for 1 to 2 hours or longer.

Preheat oven to 400° F. Push dough through a cookie press, or roll on floured surface to 1/4” thick and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake 6 to 10 minutes, until golden around the edges. Cool on racks.

Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar and decorate with cherries. Place cookies on decorative platters surrounded by golden ribbons and pearl garlands!
